As the season of Lent was set to begin, we challenged our seniors to connect their Social Justice course with what they have been learning in Sacramental Life: to be sacrament to all those they meet as they answer the call to love radically - and ultimately doing justice in the world.
In a time where donations to food banks are down and more and more people enter the cycle of poverty, our students answered the call to "love the dear neighbor." Enthusiasm for the student-led drive increased from last year as our seniors came up with the theme: "Serve with Love, Give with Grace, Share what you CAN." This Lent, our BMC community donated 7,554 pounds of food to Catholic Charities, nearly double from last year's Lenten drive. In total this school year, our two food drives brought in a donation of over 16,000 pounds of food. What a way for our school community to authentically live out our charism and mission!
